The FlexiGrid Pavilion is a visionary concept integrating modularity and prefabrication to create versatile, adaptable spaces for residential and communal functions.
A key advantage is its flexibility in implementing smart systems, either retrofitted or seamlessly incorporated during manufacturing, enhancing user experience and operational efficiency. Finding the sweet spot (number of parts) involves determining the optimal size and complexity of each module to balance ease of transportation and on-site assembly. Number of parts should be large enough to minimize connections but small enough to be transported safely. Using interchangeable parts simplifies manufacturing and allows for greater flexibility in assembly. The steel frame construction provides strength and flexibility, enabling large open spaces adaptable to various uses, with steel components prefabricated off-site, ensuring precision and reducing on-site construction time. This project is not just about doing new things but updating our way of thinking and utilizing technological tools to propose something modular and smart. To ensure seamless integration across architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sustainability, the project utilizes Autodesk software, including Revit, Robot Structural Analysis, InfraWorks 360, Civil 3D, Autodesk Insight, Navisworks, Autodesk Tandem, A360, and Autodesk Informed Design, enabling Industry 4.0 logic in design processes.
